Our Story | Farm To Cup
How Rayana Roast Was Born

Rayana Roast started in 2014 in a small café in Rembang — a coastal town in Indonesia where the smell of the ocean blends with the scent of freshly roasted coffee. That’s where Yana and Ray met: two people from opposite sides of the world, connected by a shared obsession with great coffee and meaningful work.

Yana grew up in a fishing village near Rembang and spent her early years visiting family-run coffee farms across Java and Sumatra. There, she saw firsthand how careful growing, hand-picking, and community-driven production led to consistently better coffee. Those experiences shaped her vision: to connect these high-quality beans with coffee drinkers worldwide — while ensuring the people behind the beans are treated fairly and paid well.
Ray, originally from the U.S. and now based in the Netherlands, was always on the move for work — and always chasing a better cup of coffee. That day in Rembang, he found both. The connection was instant. Over a few strong brews, the idea started to form: what if they could bring top-quality Indonesian beans to the global market — roasted with care, built on trust, and grounded in transparency?
That was the beginning of Rayana Roast.
Our Vision | Farm To Cup

Based in The Hague, Rayana Roast connects Indonesia’s best coffee-growing regions with conscious drinkers around the world. Our goal is to grow production to 1,000 tons in the next 5–6 years — without cutting corners. That means working directly with farmers, paying fair prices, investing in quality control, and staying true to the origin. We’re not just in the coffee business — we’re in the relationship business. Long-term trust, not short-term margins, is what drives us.
Designs With a Story
Our packaging isn’t just visual — it’s cultural. Each design reflects the stories, symbols, and legends of Indonesia: heroes, mythical beings, and ancestral traditions that are still alive in the communities we work with. It’s our way of honouring the people and places behind the coffee — and giving customers something real to connect with.
